Retention Basin Construction in Tegal Alur is Expected to Overcome Inundation

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency currently builds Tegal Alur Retention Basin in Kalideres, West Jakarta. This retention basin will be used to overcome inundation that often occurs at Tegal Alur Lokbin Public Housing (Rusun) due to rain and tidal flood.

We start this project in September and target it to finish by the end of December

Jakarta SDA Agency Head, Juaini Yusuf stated, his side will build retention basin with size 2,410 square meters.

"When the rain falls, Tegal Alur Lokbin Public Housing often inundated because of overflowing Semongol River. This area is also inundated when tidal flood occurs," he explained, Monday (10/26).

Joint Personnel Deployed to Clean Situ Munjul Reservoir Area

According to him, this retention basin will have depth about 3 meters with capacity 7,230 cubic meters of water.

His side expected that when Semongol River overflows, water can flow into the retention basin first.

"We start this project in September and target it to finish by the end of December," he asserted.
